Children North East

We have been making better lives for children since 1891. Our work with children, young people and families gives them a hand up rather than a hand out.

One in four children and young people in the North East live below the official poverty line. Children North East believes it is not fair or right that they don’t get the same chances and breaks as their peers.

Children North East is North East England’s very own children’s charity. For 125 years we have been transforming the lives of disadvantaged children so that they have a better chance in life.

132,000 children in the North East are officially living in poverty. Improving their quality of life takes money, time and perseverance.
